Standard flanges should be preferred; calculations as mentioned by LZ are only necessary when non-standard flanges are used

As for the weight of the flanges, it can be ignored, as their weight is negligible compared to that of the pipeline’s medium and valves. However, for flanges with a neck, attention must be paid to their length. As for the selection of the sealing surface for the flange, it’s best to refer to the specifications, as they explain it clearly.
