To what extent is stainless steel of type 316 resistant to acid corrosion?
Stainless steel made of 316 material has good resistance to intergranular corrosion, but it is particularly sensitive to ions such as chloride and sulfur ions.

Regardless of the results obtained by HaiChuan, it is necessary to conduct experiments: simulate acid and salt concentrations as well as material temperatures, and test the 316L specimens for 24–120 hours to measure parameters such as corrosion rate, in order to determine whether the material is suitable. The specific circumstances of each material vary, so it’s not possible to apply someone else’s experience directly; what’s needed is a guide to avoid taking unnecessary detours!

Test conditions for the 316 coupon: pH 5.5, a solution containing 5.5% each of ammonium chloride and potassium chloride, temperature of 70 degrees. The coupon lost no weight after being exposed to these conditions for a week; I’m not sure why
