Recently, the amine liquid regeneration tower in our plant’s gas separation unit has been experiencing frequent overfilling issues; the acidic water reflux tank gets full in a very short time, approximately 2–3 minutes. Before the tank becomes full, the pressure in the amine liquid regeneration tower increases, and the temperature at the bottom of the tower also rises )
It’s probably the amine solution that has caused foaming; adding some defoamer should do the trick, or you can add some fresh amine solution.
There are many reasons; do you have a flash tank before your amine solution enters the tower? Is the bottom of the tower heated by steam? What is the temperature after the thermostatic reducer is put into use?
Is it because the temperature entering the oxidation regeneration tower is too high, or is it solvent foaming?
It’s on the fourth floor – you must be mistaken. It’s an amine liquid regeneration tower; how could there be an oxidation regeneration tower here? Hehe, that’s for catalyst alkali liquid desulfurization

Haha, the device is aging; under heavy load this is normal. It doesn’t happen very often, so it can’t be considered a real issue
During adjustment, stabilize the flash tank system ahead; don’t let the regeneration tower dictate the process. Also, reduce the bottom temperature promptly when there is a surge in pressure, and be very careful in carrying out these actions
These past few days, our regeneration tower has been in continuous operation – it’s abnormal if it doesn’t run five or six times a day. I’m puzzled; there were no signs before this started, and suddenly there was no more acidic gas, and the tank filled up quickly.
Is it due to solvent foaming, or is it a problem with the tray? :(
