Should a stripping tower use a plate tower or a packed tower?

Dear sea friends, do you use tray towers or packed towers in your stripping towers?
The stripping tower in our plant is a Packer tower

Packed towers are now commonly used. Packed towers feature: ① high gas-liquid load capacity, ② high mass transfer efficiency, ③ stable operation, and ④ low resistance to gas flow through the tower, which helps meet the requirements of vacuum operations or energy savings； ⑤It has a simple structure, is easy to manufacture and repair, is corrosion-resistant, and does not get clogged.
The stripping tower in ethylene plants that I am aware of is a plate tower.
Packed towers have high mass transfer efficiency, but they are expensive.
Generally, stripping towers that involve a solid-liquid phase are of the plate type, while those involving a liquid-liquid phase are packed towers.
If you are dealing with a large volume of liquid, it is recommended to use a filler. There is now a multi-step ring packing whose flux is higher than that of Pall rings, with a larger distance between rings and saddles, as well as higher efficiency. If the liquid volume is low, it is not suitable to use a filler, as the wetting rate is low and its performance cannot be utilized
