My PROII 8.1 runs very slowly; for example, it takes 1 to 2 minutes after clicking on \"Component\" before a window appears to allow me to select components, and the same thing happens when clicking elsewhere. Even starting up the PROII software is slow – in short, everything responds slowly. My computer is fast, so does anyone know what’s causing this issue?
If the program can’t be opened, it’s probably an installation issue; I’ve encountered that too, and I had to reinstall it.
Use 6.0; it’s good, and I’ve been using it as well
I reinstalled version 8.1, but it still doesn’t work. I then installed version 8.0, and it still isn’t functional. It works fine on my laptop, so what’s going on? Have you encountered this problem before?
That’s because of decryption issues; the software first tries to search on the network, and it’s possible that your computer previously had license files set up on a server. Disable the local connection first, and then there will be no problems when it’s turned on.
5# jhgyyh, dear expert above – does that mean I have to disable the network when using PROII 8.1? Is there any better way? Where should I make changes so that I can access the Internet as well as use PROII?
If it works after you lose internet connection, that must be the reason. The solution might be quite complicated, and it may not work either; you can give it a try. First, reinstall your PROii without deleting it; click on \"Modify\". In the third step, go to the \"Security Options\" section and select \"flexlm7.2\". Then remove the address @192.168.*.* from there, and proceed with the installation. After installation, delete the IPASSI_LICENSE_FILE variable from your environment variables and try again. Find that variable in Environment Variables on my computer – Advanced – Environment Variables – System Variables, and delete it. Give it a try
8# jhgyyh Hello, I have installed version 8.1, and in the output file generated by the program, I see the following message: PROJECT PRO/II VERSION 8.1 ELEC V6.6 PROBLEM OUTPUT INDEX 01/02/10 Your license will expire in -42 days. Please contact your IPASSI sales representative. How can this be resolved?
I’ve encountered a similar problem as well; I had multiple versions installed, including the legitimate one which required server verification. It turned out that whenever verification was needed, the verification message was sent even for non-legitimate versions. The solution was to clear all the IPASSI_LICENSE_FILE values in the registry (which are the server addresses entered during installation) – there are 4 such entries in total. Once a legitimate version is needed, the server addresses can be re-entered in the registry
Let’s reinstall it; the problem with version D is quite strange
Did you enter it by running regedit? Once inside, where exactly should I look? I searched for ages but couldn’t find it
