It’s unlikely. Manganese sand filters are mainly used for water to remove iron ions.
The main function of a manganese sand filter is to remove suspended solids from water. It is also most commonly used to remove iron and manganese from groundwater; under the action of catalysts such as manganese sand, dissolved ferrous iron or ferrous manganese is oxidized respectively into insoluble compounds of ferric iron or manganese in the +3 state, which are then removed through filtration. Therefore, the claim by LZ that calcium ions are released during filtration has no theoretical basis; let experts deal with it.
