Is there a difference between steam and steam? What are the specific definitions and classifications? Incidentally (What is the effect of the return opening of circulating water in the heat exchanger on the temperature of the cooled medium? )
Steam, I think, should refer to the gaseous state at critical pressure or the steam-water (liquid) mixture under critical pressure. The steam should be dry steam above the critical pressure. But everyone is mixing it up.
Steam -----Steam for water (water vapor); Vapor ----- All other vapors capable of producing gases. The return opening of circulating water in the heat exchanger has an impact on the temperature of the medium to be cooled. When the valve is turned on/off, the return water temperature decreases/increases, and the temperature of the cooled medium will also change accordingly. The amplitude of the change will change with the change of the return water valve opening.
