I wonder if, in your workplaces, experts in areas such as instrumentation, processes, and equipment are truly brought together for a systematic analysis at the early stages of a project?
HAZOP analysis is usually conducted for new projects abroad, but it is rarely done in China. HAZOP analysis is generally conducted during the preliminary design phase.
Our team did carry out PHA, primarily using the HAZOP method, and to some extent the what-if approach as well. From March to September, in my opinion, the quality of this work depends entirely on the level of the team
I have worked at several well-known foreign companies, and the decision was based on the size of the project and its level of risk. For any changes, a MOC is used; for amounts in the hundreds of thousands, whatif analyses are employed, while for amounts over one million, HAZOP analyses are generally required, with MAPP also being used in some cases. Doing this requires a high level of experience.
For new projects in China today, there are already well-established processes available for reference in terms of instrumentation, manufacturing techniques, and equipment; very few new processes that have never been used before exist, so analysis is rarely required
