Dichloromethane is used as the solvent, and a small amount of propylene is introduced into the reaction, at less than about 1%. What methods can be used to remove this propylene so that the dichloromethane can be reused? Thank you all!

Azeotropic distillation might not work; it’s difficult to separate them. Dichloromethane has a boiling point of 40 degrees, so a large amount of dichloromethane will come out together with the other substances
Dichloromethane and propanone have the same boiling point. Recycling using special distillation or vapor permeation membranes might be possible, but the investment is relatively high. Selling it directly is a good option.
This is a major problem for our factory; the daily consumption of dichloromethane can reach up to 20 cubic meters. However, the small amount of propylene present has a significant impact on the yield of the product. To date, no suitable solution has been found. Currently, we only wash the dichloromethane with water to dissolve the propylene, but this method still results in some residual amounts

Distillation will do; the chloromethane will evaporate first at 40 degrees, so it can be collected at that temperature – propene won’t come out together with it. Is the dichloromethane you recycle distilled? If so, it can be controlled easily by separating out the components with a temperature above 40 degrees.
