According to the standards, the design pressure of all pipes connected to equipment should be no less than the design pressure of the equipment they are connected to. So which pipes are not connected to any equipment? ? It seems like all the pipes are connected to the equipment; there isn’t any pipe that isn’t connected to the equipment
LZ’s topic is rather vague; pipes cannot replace equipment, as pipes must be connected to equipment, even though there are various types of equipment.
In my opinion, the following pipelines should be included: 1. Process pipelines connected to other systems via reliable pressure reduction devices； 2. Pipelines leading to the low-pressure system or the atmosphere behind the waste discharge and drain valves ； 3. Safety valve discharge pipeline.
In a device, there are many pipes that are not directly connected to the equipment, such as connection pipes between two pipes, as well as exhaust or ground discharge pipes that branch off directly from the pipes; therefore, not all pipes need to be connected to the equipment.
I understand that a direct connection per the standards means there are no valves or other piping components (such as filters) in between.
Utility-related, pressure-relief, etc
The pipes connected to the equipment as referred to in the specifications should be those that are in communication with the equipment; if there are valves or other fittings on such pipes, then the pipelines downstream of them are not considered to be connected to the equipment.
The original poster has a completely wrong understanding. Not all pipes connected to a device should be considered as such; it’s sufficient to think of only those pipes that are directly connected to the device in order to understand the meaning of this statement
