I would like to ask everyone, what is the difference between mounting and installation?
According to the dictionary, both words have the meaning of “installing” or “assembling”. I think the scope of \"installation\" is broader than that of \"mounting\". If I need to describe installing or assembling one component/device on top of or around another component/device, I tend to use the word \"mounting\"; for example, \"installing the pump and motor on the chassis\" or \"installing the pressure gauge on the heat exchanger\" – in these cases, \"mounting\" is the appropriate term. Installation, on the other hand, has a broader scope; in chemical plants, it is used to describe all the work that takes place after the plant has been erected but before it is commissioned. This work can be divided into mechanical installation and electrical installation, and it includes tasks such as pipeline connection and cable laying.
\"Install\" emphasizes the process of assembling something from scratch, which is a general concept; therefore, \"installation\" is used more often to express this idea. Its English example: to prepare something for use; “install the washer and dryer”. The term \"mount\" emphasizes fixing something to an existing structure/component, so it is more often translated as \"assemble\". Examples in English: 1. attach to a support; “They mounted the aerator on a float.” 2. fix onto a backing, surface, or support; “Mount slides for macroscopic analysis.” Just my two cents, for your information.
