Questions about my unit’s distillation tower

The catalytic unit in our plant was transferred from Daqing Petrochemical. Since the distillation tower was divided into many sections during the transfer process, there were issues during commissioning where the reflux flow in various sections could not be established. When we opened up the tower trays to inspect them, we found leaks in the top liquid receiver and the middle liquid receiver; these leaks were then repaired. But currently, when driving, mid-stream backflow and top-loop backflow still require the addition of heavy fuel oil and diesel to establish a circulation. I would appreciate it if fellow sailors could help – has this phenomenon occurred in your systems as well?
It’s likely a problem with the equipment; the leakage seems to be quite severe. The poster might need to take the tower apart and check it again to see if the trays are installed incorrectly. The trays in the stripping section and those in the distillation section are sometimes different.
By \"driving,\" do you mean normal operation or during the startup process? If it’s during startup, it’s fine to add gasoline or diesel; but if adding it is necessary during normal operation, then there are issues with the conditions ahead – the calculations related to the gas-liquid phase are incorrect, and it’s necessary to check factors such as product distribution and cooling capacity.
It is recommended to pay attention to several issues during the next maintenance: 1. The levelness of the trays. 2. Check whether the floating valve is stuck or has fallen off. I think this has a lot to do with the relationship between the liquid receiving tray and the overflow weir
