Distillation towers (including crude distillation towers, aldehyde removal towers, and refined distillation towers) are one of the main equipment used in alcohol production. The standards for their proper condition are as follows: (1) They operate normally with good efficiency; ①The distillation efficiency is good, with the production capacity reaching over 90% of the designed level or sufficient to meet normal production requirements. ②Pressure and temperature are stable. ③All inlet and outlet ports are unobstructed, with no blockages. (2) No damage to internal components: ① The tower walls and other parts show no severe corrosion, nor any signs of peeling or bubbling. ②The manufacturing and installation quality of the components inside the tower shall meet the requirements of the drawings. (3) The main unit is clean, and all accessories are available and functional: ① All types of valves and instruments are complete and accurate. ②The tower is clean, all accessories are present, and the insulation layer is intact. ③All parts and bolts are present and properly tightened. (4) Complete technical documents should include: ① Equipment card. ②Inspection and major repair acceptance records. ③The drawings are complete and accurate. (5) The temperature, pressure, and level indication instruments are operating properly, being sensitive and accurate.
The most fundamental aspects are the tower’s production capacity, operational flexibility, separation efficiency, and tray efficiency! Stable pressure and temperature are not inherent problems of the tower but rather the result of operational factors!
