Our facility shares a single chlorine-hydrogen treatment system for both diaphragm and ion exchange membranes; under normal circumstances, the hydrogen produced by the ion exchange membranes is vented, but sometimes a fault occurs with the diaphragm membrane, in which case we need to handle the hydrogen generated by the ion exchange membranes. The amount of hydrogen produced by the ion exchange membrane per unit time is much less compared to that of a diaphragm. I would like to ask whether, in this case, the water volume in the scrubber needs to be reduced accordingly? There is another issue: when handling ion-exchange membrane hydrogen separately, it is difficult to maintain stable system vacuum, which often results in the water seal being damaged. Has anyone encountered such a situation? # hcbbs
1. Does the water volume in the scrubber need to be reduced accordingly? If this water is recycled, it shouldn’t matter. Originally, the hydrogen in the ion membrane carries very little chlorine, so it can function even without being turned on. Choose an appropriate water volume from a cooling perspective. 2. Regarding the issue with the pressure water seal, could it be that the suction power of your hydrogen compressor is too high? It is recommended that if there is a manual backflow control valve, open this valve wider to increase the inlet air volume

There is no need to reduce the amount of water used for washing; instead, adjust the load on the hydrogen pump and regulate the flow rate back.
