What should be taken into consideration when programming Allen-Bradley lower-level devices?
Although the HaliTech DCS system allows configuration to be carried out offline, it is still recommended to avoid downloading configuration data while the process is in operation, or to opt for incremental downloading instead. Additionally, back up the current project configuration before starting the process, and choose to do it when the process is operating under low load and stable conditions.
It’s better to be careful. The installation can be done offline, but be aware that you should stop as soon as the message “Clear lower part” appears. Wait until the vehicle comes to a stop before proceeding with the installation. Also, make sure to back up the PID parameters, as there’s a risk of losing them entirely. The central control system isn’t affected by this, so there’s no need to worry about it; just focus on the installation
When performing offline installation, we choose a process with relatively stable conditions, activate the contact system interlock, and carry out the installation without any disruptions.
If it prompts you to perform the installation without interruptions, that’s of course good, but it’s better not to do the installation offline. We have an example here: the Allen-Bradley manufacturer carried out the installation in person, but halfway through the process, the system crashed – the main controller stopped working. It’s very dangerous
Try to install the software when the vehicle is parked or moving smoothly. It’s also a good idea to switch the server first, and then install everything
It is best not to install the Advantech systems offline; in our case, there have been instances where installing them offline resulted in the loss of controllers. It is recommended to first conduct statistics on cases that require database modifications, and then carry out the installation after shutting down the factory.
