Could HG and JB be used as substitutes for standards? Friends from the design institute, please provide an answer.
Check the compilation instructions to see whether German or American standards are used as a basis, as the installation dimensions differ
Firstly, both JB and HG standard flanges can be used on equipment (provided that the operating conditions, pressure, temperature, and maximum load meet their respective technical specifications). Secondly, it is preferable to use flanges of the same standard for pairing—that is, JB with JB, and HG with HG. If it’s absolutely necessary to pair flanges from two different standards, please refer to pages 122–124. Finally, two points should be noted: Note 1: The PN16.0 and PN20.0 MPa flanges under the JB standard cannot be paired with PN16.0 and PN20.0 MPa flanges under the HG standard. Note 2: The three JB flanges—PN0.25 DN500, PN0.6 DN500, and PN1.0 DN80—cannot be paired with any HG flanges. Regarding the substitution you mentioned, it depends on whether the dimensions of the sealing surfaces, bolt hole sizes, type of sealing surface, flange category, operating conditions (temperature, pressure, maximum allowable pressure), material, and applicable working conditions are identical between the original flange and the proposed substitute flange. If all these aspects match, substitution is possible; otherwise, it isn’t allowed (except when strength calculations based on non-standard flanges indicate compliance with requirements). The analysis is quite thorough. The specific dimensions for the JB/T82.2-94 DN25 PN6.3 flange are as follows: the outer diameter of the flange end (welding side) is φ32; the outer diameter of the flange itself is φ140/135 (Series 1/Series 2); the center distance between the bolt holes is φ100; the bolt holes have a diameter of 4–φ18; the thickness of the flange is 22, its height is 58; the inner diameter is φ25; the diameter of the neck portion is φ52. The dimensions of the sealing surface are as follows for Type A/concave surfaces: outer diameter φ57, thickness 2. By comparing it with HG20592, one should be able to understand the differences

I think it’s sufficient as long as the mating flanges follow the same standards~~ Another thing I encounter quite often is that JB standards are frequently used for the steam drums in boilers, while HG standards are commonly used for chemical pressure vessels.
How is the flange material determined according to JB/T82.2? What standard should be used for the accompanying sealing washers?
Whether a pairing is possible depends mainly on the dimensions of the bolt connections and the hole sizes; other factors have little impact
