I encountered a problem recently that I haven’t figured out, so I’m here to ask for everyone’s advice. The bolt for the root valve on the pressure gauge, according to the material grade table, is selected based on the material grade and flange size; for example, if 1/2\" bolts with a length of 70 mm are chosen, does this mean that the length of such bolts refers only to the portion that connects the valve to the pipe (equipment)? Is this also the length connected to the instrument side? How do I choose that length? Some also have loose-flange types; how should the length of such bolts be determined? There are quite a few issues; I hope some friends can help out. Thank you all in advance
Are you referring to the issue of selecting bolts for pressure gauge valves (flanged type)? Is it that complicated! The selection is made based on factors such as the nominal diameter of the flange, operating pressure, temperature, and the medium. No distinction between pipeline side and instrument side.
The answer above is correct; there are specifications for bolt length. Once the flange type is determined, the bolt length is also fixed
Meters do not require loose-flange connections; instead, necked butt-weld flanges or necked flat-weld flanges are used, with necked butt-weld flanges being the most common. It is sufficient to choose based on the requirements of the relevant standards. However, such information can no longer be found in the new 2009 standards; it is recommended to consult the 1997 version of the standards
