How should the liquid level in the Ruchi furnace jacket and the liquid level in the waste heat boiler be adjusted? Theoretically, a lower liquid level can reduce the likelihood of water entrainment, but it may also affect the heat exchange efficiency. I’ve noticed that technicians rarely make adjustments, and when they do, it’s in a rather arbitrary manner – the level can be changed directly from 40% to 50%. So just how much does the liquid level actually affect performance, and how should it be adjusted?
How are the liquid levels in the Lurgi furnace jacket and in the waste heat boiler adjusted? In fact, there is a separator at the top of the Lurgi furnace jacket, which functions like a drum. The liquid level in this separator is controlled by regulating the flow rate of boiler water entering the jacket. If the liquid level in the separator is too high, steam may contain water; if it is too low, the safety of the jacket cannot be ensured, as the purpose of having a jacket is to maintain its temperature within a certain range. If, due to differences in coal quality, the gas temperature is relatively high and more heat energy needs to be recovered, it is possible to adjust the control settings to a slightly higher level without any issues.

Of course, if the liquid level in the gasification furnace is too low, insufficient heat exchange will result in less steam being produced, which in turn increases subsequent processing costs. The height of the jacket’s liquid level should be determined based on the calorific value of the coal used.
