What is the function of the quench chamber in Texaco’s gasification technology? Principle? Thank you
In Texaco’s gasification technology, the quench chamber serves to wash the syngas, recover heat, and reduce the temperature of the syngas.
It should be mainly for cooling purposes, but dealing with the black water after quenching is also a major issue!
The crude syngas is cooled and descaled to undergo the first stage of washing; at the same time, the heat carried away by the high-temperature syngas is recovered to maintain thermal balance in the system and ensure the correct water vapor ratio in the crude syngas.
It is mainly used for washing and cooling syngas.
