There is a current requirement for the separation and recovery of small amounts of oil vapor; two process options have been pre-selected: 1) use of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, similar to those used in ammonia condensers. Water --》 tube side; oil and gas fractions --》 shell side. 2. I would like to use equipment similar to that used in oil refining, namely multiple wash towers at different oil temperatures, in order to separate the various fractions. I lack design experience, so I hope experts can help me assess the advantages and disadvantages of these two approaches. By the way, Benben has a question: what is the technical name for a heat exchanger (condenser) of the scrubber type? Where is it produced? The oil vapor volume is approximately 30~60 kg/hr.
After reading the book again, I realized that the heat exchanger in a scrubber tower is called a mixed-type heat exchanger. Unlike shell-and-tube heat exchangers, the medium undergoes heat and mass transfer directly within the tower, similar to the thermal deaerator in boilers.
