Does the speed of the coke conveyor belt affect the particle size of the coke?
Personally, I believe that the transportation speed has no impact on the particle size of coke, provided that the speed remains within the limits allowed by the conveyor belt. Belt transportation of coke has a granulating effect on it, primarily due to the impact and shaking that occurs during transportation.
I think it’s mainly the belt transfer points that cause impacts, affecting the particle size.
The belt speed has an impact on the particle size of coke; a higher belt speed results in greater impact force at the point of impact, which causes fragmentation of the coke particles. Buffering the focal point can improve it.
By taking proper measures to prevent breakage, the impact of belt speed is reduced.
Since our plant did not build a coking screening building, we used loaders to transfer the coke in the past; as a result, the particle size was relatively uniform. To save on fuel costs, we switched to using mobile belts for transportation, which requires 3–5 transfers. Although most of the fine coke particles are filtered out through the chutes, material separation occurs at the point where the material falls onto the moving belt, resulting in a poorer overall particle size. Since many customers come to pick up the goods themselves, it is quite troublesome to arrange loading and organize the coke storage area.
During the transportation of coke by belt, the speed of the belt has no effect on the particle size of the coke. Rather, at the transfer station, during the process of the coke falling, large pieces of coke can easily break apart or have their edges worn off. Because the higher the belt speed, the greater the impact force upon falling.
