What are the different types of design methods? For example, what are the differences between rule design and analysis design? And what design method is used for spherical tanks in design?
The stress analysis methods used in regular design (such as 150) and analytical design (JB4732) are different; the strength analysis theories on which they are based are also distinct, and thus the safety factors vary. The general design standard for spherical tanks is GB12337 for steel spherical storage tanks; stress calculations can be found in Section 6.2. Actually, it’s no different from 150; it still belongs to the conventional design category. If the design standard specified in your overall design plan is JB4732, then refer to Section 5 \"General Guidelines for Stress Analysis\" of JB4732 for the stress analysis calculation methods. In addition, the material, manufacturing, and inspection requirements specified in 4732 must be met.
What is the difference in thickness and other parameters calculated for the same container between rule-based design and analytical design? Is analytical design allowed for spherical tanks? Is it contradictory to 12337?
