How to use it in the three types of equilibrium distillation? What are the key control points?
Under normal control of the tower, it is essential to maintain stability in the top pressure, bottom temperature, feed rate, and preheating temperature. Based on the analysis results, the adjustment principle is as follows: if the concentration of poorly volatile components in the liquid at the bottom is low and the concentration of readily volatile components at the top is not very high, then more product should be extracted from the top; Conversely, top extraction should be reduced or a full reflux mode should be adopted. In production, it is essential to maintain stability and balance, avoiding large fluctuations; even if there is severe imbalance inside the tower, the extent of adjustments should not be excessive.
Apart from equipment issues, the main factors affecting the distillation process include the temperature and pressure of the column (including the top, bottom of the column, and certain trays of special significance); Feeding status ; Feed rate ; Feed composition ; Feed temperature ; Steam rise rate in the tower and heating capacity of the evaporation kettle ; Backflow volume ; Top condenser cooling capacity ; Top tray yield and bottom tray yield. The operation of the tower involves adjusting these influencing factors in accordance with the composition requirements of the products at the top and bottom of the tower.

Taking methanol distillation as an example, how should we manage this equilibrium? In other words, when the process doesn’t operate properly or the product quality is not up to standard, how can we adjust things so that they meet the required standards? What are your approaches?
