What is the difference between a safety valve and a pressure relief valve?
The safety valve has no actuator; it opens automatically when pressure exceeds a certain level, and closes automatically once the pressure drops； The pressure relief valve has an actuator and needs to be manually opened.
The safety valve serves a protective role to prevent the equipment from overheating. When overpressure occurs, the safety valve opens to release some of the medium; once the pressure is reduced, the safety valve closes automatically. Generally, after returning to normal operation, the safety valve should be removed, the pressure set again, and the sealing performance checked. A pressure relief valve is used to reduce system pressure and discharge most or all of the fluid.
