Some masters of the hot oil circulating pump in our factory said to replace it with bearings without oil seals, while others said they are the same. Please let me know the difference downstream. The hot oil temperature is about 210 degrees.
If the bearing is lubricated by lubricating oil, there must be an oil seal. If it is grease lubricated, the oil seal will not be so effective, but generally there is still one, unless it is a closed bearing that has been greased.
The main function of the oil seal is to prevent the loss of lubricating oil, and to prevent external dust and other impurities from entering the inside of the bearing to accelerate the wear of the balls and cause the bearing to fail.
The bearings are not equipped with oil seals. The oil seals are designed in the bearing box structure. The hot oil temperature is 210°C, and the bearing needs to be designed with cooling water cooling.
The lubricating medium used is not only related to the bearing structure, but also related to the lubrication type, speed, load, etc. If the compliance is not high and the speed is not high (within 500 rpm), use a bearing with a dust cover, which is simple, trouble-free and reliable. If the speed is high and the load is large, thin oil lubrication is required, such as an ordinary blower. If the speed is high and the load is high, tiles are generally used. So I think the one you mentioned is pretty much the same with or without a dust cover.
