I am pleased to announce that we have acquired DuPont’s Specialty Catalyst business as of January 1st, 2010. This acquisition includes DuPont™ Tyzor® titanium and zirconium compounds, as well as Avitex® hydrocarbon surfactants and antistatic agents, all of which are used in a wide range of industrial applications. With this latest acquisition from DuPont, we will become leaders in this market segment on a global scale. These products find use in various industries, including oil and gas, paints and coatings, printing inks, industrial sealants, as well as in corrosion prevention and emission control efforts. Our strategy is to operate in different market segments, and we will achieve this by leveraging our strengths in research and development and manufacturing capabilities in the chemical industry. My boss asked me to translate this, but it’s too difficult for me; please help me out, everyone.

Market segments refer to the division of the market into smaller groups. Such segmentation not only helps companies identify new market opportunities, but also enables them to select target markets more effectively, allocate limited resources wisely, focus their efforts, and provide better service to their target customers. Our strategy is to be in different market segments. Our company’s strategy is to pursue market segmentation. FYI~~~
Our strategy is to enter multiple different fields
I am now pleased to announce that we have acquired DuPont’s Specialty Catalyst business, effective January 1st, 2010. .............................(No difficulties; omitted.) Our strategy is to operate in different market segments. We will achieve this by leveraging our strengths in research and development as well as manufacturing capabilities in the chemical industry. Translation: Our strategy is to enter various distinct market segments, thereby enhancing our company’s R&D capabilities and production skills in the chemical industry. I’m a bit confused about the use of \"leveraging\" here; everyone is welcome to discuss it. ----------------------------------------FYI :handshake
“Leveraging” means “to make use of”.
leverage v.t., -aged, -ag·ing, -ag·es. To provide (a company) with leverage; to supplement (money, for example) with leverage. To improve or enhance: “It makes more sense to be able to leverage what we do in a more effective way to our listeners” (Delano Lewis). The second meaning (improving, strengthening) seems appropriate here. :handshake
Explanation: Make full use of – in business terms, we often talk about leveraging existing investments or resources, etc.; this means making the most of these available investments or resources to achieve the greatest returns. This is a business buzzword.
Our strategy is to operate in different market segments. We will achieve this by leveraging our strengths in research and development as well as manufacturing capabilities in the chemicals industry. We aim to enter various market areas so that our advantages in R&D and production technologies within the chemical sector can be fully utilized.
