Eligibility requirements 　　Any person who abides by laws and regulations, adheres to professional ethics, and meets one of the following conditions may apply to take the professional qualification examination for Environmental Impact Assessment Engineers: 　　(1) Hold an associate degree in a field related to environmental protection, and have at least 7 years of experience in environmental impact assessment work ； Or hold an associate degree in another field, with at least 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment. 　　(II) Hold a bachelor’s degree in an environmental protection-related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment work ； Or hold a bachelor’s degree in another field, with at least 6 years of experience in environmental impact assessment. 　　(III) Hold a master’s degree in an environmental protection-related field, and have at least 2 years of experience in environmental impact assessment work ； Or hold another professional master’s degree and have at least 3 years of experience in environmental impact assessment. 　　(IV) Hold a doctoral degree in an environmental protection-related field, and have at least 1 year of experience in environmental impact assessment work ； Or hold a doctoral degree in another field, with at least 2 years of experience in environmental impact assessment. 　　(5) Those who have worked in environmental impact assessment for a long time prior to December 31, 2003, and meet one of the following conditions, may be exempted from the exams on \"Technical Guidelines and Standards for Environmental Impact Assessment\" and \"Technical Methods for Environmental Impact Assessment\", and only need to take the exams on \"Case Studies in Environmental Impact Assessment\" and \"Relevant Laws and Regulations on Environmental Impact Assessment\". 　　1. Have held a senior professional and technical position in the engineering field for at least 3 years, with a cumulative total of 15 years of experience in environmental impact assessment-related work. 　　2. Employed in a senior professional and technical position related to engineering, and have obtained the \"Certification of Completion of Training for Environmental Impact Assessment\" issued by the State Environmental Protection Administration.

If you are not planning to pursue this career and are taking the exam only to earn some money by obtaining a certificate, it is advised not to take the exam. Reason: 1. The passing rate for these exams is very low at the moment, as the difficulty level is high ； 2.
