Our slag lock hoppers are automatically controlled, with slag being discharged every 30 minutes. Recently, due to problems with the water pumps, the liquid level in the flushing water tank has not been able to reach the required level on time; as a result, when the timing for slag discharge arrives, the slag collection valve shuts off and the system waits for the liquid level to rise again. During this time, the circulation pump of the lock hopper continues to operate, causing the slag to accumulate in the pipes above the slag collection valve. What damages might this prolonged operation cause to the equipment?
1. Slag clogging and bridging in the quench chamber are likely to occur; 2. Increased pipe wear ; It is recommended to add a water supply pipeline, as this will have a significant impact on the gasifier in the long term. If there is a slag breaker, bridging can easily occur at its upper part; this causes the slag in the system to be carried to the flasher (if the accumulation time is long). As long as the time is not too long, it’s not a problem. If the liquid level rises slowly, just open the water supply valve wider. How could a living person die from holding in urine?
Increase the slag collection time in the lock hopper; one cycle of the lock hopper lasts 50 minutes. It has no impact on the system; the amount of slag that can be processed in one lock-hopper cycle should be quite large. So after the system discharges slag, there is enough time to refill the water tank for flushing the lock hoppers.
