I have a workshop with dimensions of 20*60 square meters and a height of 9 meters. The workshop needs to be airtight to prevent external dust from entering; no specific cleanliness standard is required, and air conditioning will not be installed. Since steam and cooling water are readily available, I plan to use plate heat exchangers to exchange heat with the outdoor air (using steam for heating in winter and cooling water for cooling in summer), thereby ensuring fresh indoor air and a stable indoor temperature. In this region, the outdoor dry-bulb temperature is -18 degrees in winter and 30 degrees in summer. Is such a design feasible? What would be an appropriate amount of ventilation considering the indoor temperatures in winter and summer? Please share your opinions!
Using this solution is not feasible for the volume of your company’s factory building. Central air conditioning must be used to treat the air in terms of heat, humidity, and filtration. It is also necessary to ensure that the factory building is under positive pressure.
Is no cleanliness level required? Will coarse filtration be sufficient? Are there any requirements for temperature and humidity? Just fresh air? How many people are working? What kind of physical build is it? Patterns of human distribution and movement? . . . Then come the countermeasures.
