I hope fellow members can help; there isn’t much comprehensive information available regarding equipment and pipeline materials used in the chemical industry, especially those specific to the urea production sector. Please assist me! ! ! ! Thank you! ! ! ! !
In urea plants, the materials used in the process systems (whether for equipment or pipelines) are basically austenitic stainless steel. The medium and high-pressure systems primarily use 316L (with the urea synthesis tower lining made of 316Lmod; the stripping pipes in the CO2 stripping unit are made of 2522-2, while those in the ammonia stripping unit are made of bimetallic tubes), whereas 304L is mainly used for low-pressure, evaporation, and hydrolysis desorption processes. Systems such as circulating water and steam systems are primarily made of carbon steel.
