Those who have designed warehouses for hazardous chemicals (liquids, packaged in 200-liter iron drums), please share your experience: Should the floor level in such warehouses be lower to prevent liquid leaks? How should fire protection facilities be configured, especially fire extinguishing systems?
The floor inside the warehouse should not be at the same level as the outdoor ground, to prevent water from accumulating during rainy days and flowing back in; a slope at the entrance is sufficient to keep rainwater out! Indoor wastewater is connected to the wastewater treatment system through indoor floor drains. Indoor fire protection relies on a foam spray system and closed-type nozzles, controlled by an outdoor deluge valve. The specifics can be discussed further.
