Problems with the valve stem of pneumatic emergency shut-off valves

I would like to ask the fellow sailors on site: for straight-stroke pneumatic emergency shut-off valves, what is the typical length of the valve stem that is exposed to the air? Can the connector between the push rod and the valve stem withstand vertical forces from the outside?
Was my question not precise enough? Why is no one paying attention?
The length depends on the rated stroke, which is usually indicated on the valve’s nameplate. The force acting on the connector is vertical; it is usually connected via threads. It seems that it won’t work if too much force is applied from the side.
