What are the requirements for the use of welding materials and heat treatment for welding longitudinal seams of 50 mm thick 09MnNiDR plates?
The selection of welding materials seems to be related to the welding process qualification. Heat treatment is definitely required. It seems that it needs to be probed if it is so thick, such as: Ultrasonic + radiographic supplementary flaw detection.
If the design temperature of the equipment is -70°C, H09MnNiDR/SJ208DR (submerged arc welding), W707DR or W707Ni (manual welding) obtained by Harbin Welding can be used. The interlayer temperature is ≤150°C and the line energy is ≤32KJ/CM. The thinner the plate, the smaller the line energy. The heat treatment temperature is 540-580℃.

Recommended according to JB/T 4709 welding procedure regulations: 09MnNiDR uses welding rod W707, the welding material is preheated and dried at 350℃ for 1 hour, the base metal is preheated ≥50℃, the PWHT temperature is 540-580℃ for 2 hours, the head seam is treated with the same longitudinal circumferential welding process as the cylinder
PWHT 620~650 degrees heat preservation for 2~3 hours, overall stress relief annealing
