As the title suggests, there is tar and other debris at the top of the viewing hole on the burner on the coke side – what could be the reason?
In my opinion: 1. There is leakage; raw gas, along with tar, leaks into the combustion chamber where the tar condenses. 2. The quality of the coke oven gas that is recycled is poor, as it contains a large amount of tar; however, this is unlikely to happen, as such gas is either burned or condenses within the pipes. 3. It is very likely that the root of the upper supply pipe on the Anxious side is damaged, resulting in leakage.
There is a leak in the waste gas; check it after coal has been loaded.
The leakage mainly occurs above the holes; the raw gas causes the temperature at the top of the access passages to drop, which leads to the formation of sticky substances such as coal tar and water vapor. This can prevent the inspection hole covers from opening, and it may even result in the formation of graphite within a one-meter radius above the inspection holes, although the hardness of this graphite isn’t very high. Our factory has encountered this problem before, and it can generally be resolved by applying patching materials or by reducing the pressure at the inspection holes, so that sufficient air can burn off those sticky substances. But burning it causes new problems, namely increased leakage; therefore, the ultimate solution is sealing it, or, if the gaps are filled with graphite and then the top cover is opened to burn it, this can basically solve the issue when the leakage isn’t severe

This is caused by leakage through the walls of the carbonization chamber due to rapid cooling at the burner area; the leaks are mostly very small cracks, making thermal repair difficult. Open the fire viewing port; if a large amount of yellow smoke appears, then thermal repair will be effective. If there is a lot of tar, it can be tried to clean it up. Maintaining a higher temperature in the side flues can reduce tar, completely solving a problem that is otherwise unlikely to be resolved
