Find the as-built drawings for this factory; they contain diagrams showing the locations of the instruments. It would be even more convenient if there are CAD versions available
Use a method that you are familiar with; the most important thing is to be able to remember it.
Follow the process diagram, and then create your own set of instrument wiring diagrams
By walking around the site several times referring to the PID diagram, you will become familiar with it.
You can figure it out by taking a closer look at the PID flowchart on-site
Just draw a floor plan by yourself, start by using the PID diagram to locate the points, and then ask the process engineers to help find all of them. In the future, even if I forget, I can quickly find it by looking at the diagram. There are some things that often cause problems; over time, I remember them. It’s very convenient and practical for doing work.
Generally, there are markings on the device frame fences; by using the instrument tag numbers, it is possible to determine the corresponding process area. Nowadays, instrument numbers follow a systematic pattern.
Draw a diagram of the instrument locations. Drawing such diagrams is a great method; that’s what I do usually
