It is said that one should use commands rather than icons as much as possible. What are the common commands used in CAD? Are there any mnemonic rhymes?
There are no mnemonics, but there are common commands and shortcuts; you can memorize some of the common shortcuts as well as the commands. For example, press X to explode, M to move, etc.

Does this kind of thing need to be in a rhyme? Do you read the mnemonic out loud every time you use a command? It’s even faster than icons. The shortcut keys are modified by me for personal use; once you become familiar with them, you can use them without even thinking.

Software is something meant to be used in practice; the more you use it, the more familiar you will with it become. It’s even better if you read some books as well.
