Of the 540,000 boilers in use today, over 70% are chain boilers (reciprocating boilers). How to effectively improve its thermal efficiency holds great economic and social significance. I have previously measured the counterbalance effect in chain grate boilers, and the efficiency was only around 65%; the flue gas temperature was high, there were virtually no rear heating surfaces, and the excess air coefficient was high! This should be a common issue at the moment!
Simply put, the coal hopper is changed to a layered coal hopper to enhance the sorting of coal layers. Replace the grate with larger pieces or a scale-type design to reduce coal leakage. Modify the side seal to enhance effective air cooling and reduce unnecessary air leakage. Increase the **air chambers, as well as the air pressure and volume in the average air chambers. Appropriately increase the grate area. An ignitable front arch and a highly covered rear arch are used (this is mainly for chain grates for bituminous coal II). Increase the radiant heating area of the furnace chamber and raise its radiant angle coefficient, but the outlet temperature of the furnace must be controlled to remain below the deformation temperature of the flue gases. Pay attention to the insulation of the boiler and an appropriate economizer, etc. When you have time, let’s communicate properly and come up with more practical and good solutions.
