There is currently a 10-ton coal-fired boiler, and the deaerator has been damaged, preventing proper deoxygenation. Since the boiler cannot be stopped, how long can it generally operate without deoxidation?
It mainly depends on the pressure you use; if it’s below 25 kilograms of pressure, there should be no major issues.
If deoxygenation is not carried out, the oxygen and carbon dioxide in the boiler feed water gradually react with the metal as the water flows through it; therefore, the economizer is most prone to corrosion. Next are the water supply pipes and the area around the water level line of the boiler drum, where the corrosion rate is quite fast. To ensure the safe and economical operation of boilers, the standard GB/T1576-2008 \"Water Quality for Industrial Boilers\" specifies that: deoxidization is required when the rated evaporation capacity of a boiler is 10 t/h or more; for boilers with a rated evaporation capacity of less than 10 t/h, deoxidization measures should be taken if local corrosion is detected. The oxygen content in the feed water supplied to turbines must be less than or equal to 0.05 mg/L. When the rated power of the boiler is 7MW or higher, the feed water to the hot water boiler should be deoxygenated; for hot water boilers with a rated power of less than 7MW, deoxygenation of the feed water is advisable. ”
