I have a question for everyone here: Can steel pipes of grade 20 as specified in the GB/T 8163-2008 standard be used in the external oil delivery (heating) pipelines of liquid organic heat carrier furnaces? Basis? Standard? Some people say that 3087 should be used and 8163 cannot be used, while others say it can be used. Lost and confuseding……
Check the operating temperature and pressure. We are accustomed to conditions above 200 degrees Celsius or with a pressure of over 2.0 MPa; in such cases, 3087 is usually chosen. If these limits are not met, 8163 is selected. No relevant regulations could be found.
According to the Regulations on Safety Technical Inspection of Hot Water Boilers, the 8163 pipe can only be used in applications where the outlet water temperature is below 120 degrees. I’m not sure if it can be applied to organic heat carrier boilers.
Refer to GB/T 17410-2008 \"Organic Heat Carrier Boilers\"; the pipe material grade does not include GB/T8163, and 20/GB3087 should be used instead. Applicable range: P≤6.0MPa, t≤480℃
