During the operation of the propylene plant, the suction temperature in one of the suction tanks was high; therefore, the spraying was increased by about 40%. The vaporization line was then activated, but the suction pressure rose to 55 kPa. At this point, it was observed that the rotation speed decreased. Could it be that the high pressure caused the machine to stop rotating? I can’t figure it out – the rotation speed can be adjusted automatically, and the intake valve can be opened automatically; then why does the actual rotation speed still decrease?
Under what load condition does the acrylic machine mentioned by the poster operate? The approach to making adjustments is not quite right; if the suction temperature in a suction tank is high, it’s necessary to analyze the reasons first. The solution proposed by the original poster only addresses the symptoms rather than the root cause. For example, if the loads in stage 1 and stage 2 are not matched – with the load in stage 1 being too high and that in stage 2 being too low – it will result in a high suction temperature in stage 1 and a low temperature in stage 2. It could also be due to various reasons such as high load on the unit, low rotation speed of the propylene unit, scaling in the turbine, high load on the propylene unit and low load on the ethylene unit.
When the propylene unit operates at a load of over 80%, there is no need at all for a spray vaporization line; if it is used, the opening should be kept very small, otherwise it can easily lead to a high liquid level in the suction tank.
