Some time ago, our company experienced bubbling in the copper melt, and false liquid levels frequently occurred in the copper towers, with a slight increase in liquid level. After adding an antifoaming agent to the copper melt, the situation improved gradually. Is bubbling in the copper melt mainly caused by high H2S levels in it? Is it still because there is some propylene carbonate in the copper melt (we use the propylene carbonate decarburization method)? What are the components of an antifoaming agent?

The defoaming agent component should be silicone oil! Foaming can occur if the solution is dirty or if its temperature is too high. The location of fluid replenishment in the system has a significant impact on whether the solution bubbles.
1# Suiyuan 2009 is mainly caused by copper melt contamination. Incomplete separation of impurities in imported oil, as well as excessive sulfur content, can all cause foaming.
Reasons for liquid carryover: 1. Wet decarburization is used in the previous process stage, resulting in the entrainment of carbon propyl or NHD solution; 2. Prolonged excessive hydrogen sulfide levels in the previous processing section ; 3. Analyze the copper acetylide content. Silicone oil is generally used as a defoamer.
