The edge of the firebox in our atmospheric pressure heating furnace has also cracked due to overheating, especially when using only gas! The reason is roughly as follows: the gas burner nozzles were damaged or fell off after long-term use; this was likely due to improper adjustment of the secondary air valve, or a change in the direction in which the flames from the nozzles were emitted, and things returned to normal afterward.
1. There is a problem with the quality of the brazier: it lacks sufficient heat resistance or was not properly dehydrated during manufacturing; 2. The pressure of the dry gas is low, resulting in a weak combustion flame that fails to disperse properly, often causing the edges of the fire basin to overheat ; 3、Misaligned flintlock ; 4. Local clogging of the nozzle.
I heard that when building a fire pit, if the gaps between the bricks aren’t handled properly, it can also crack.
In our stoves as well, some of the fire bowls have cracks; they burn on gas, and the heat gets too close to the fire bowl, causing it to crack due to excessive temperature. Additionally, some of them have cracks because they weren’t built properly.
The flame is burning unevenly or the nozzle is not installed properly
I think there is only one reason: generally, gas flows through the outer sleeve of the oil-gas combined burner, and due to an improper design of this sleeve, the flame angle and atomization angle are too large, resulting in cracking of the fire basin. The solution is to use high-quality casting materials to construct the fire basin, ensuring a uniform thickness (it should not be too thick)
It might be caused by issues with the material of the brazier; it would be possible to have a qualified research institution conduct tests and analyses on it
