I’m new to PVelite2008. What does the option “DIN1.6~DIN65” in the “Nozzle Input”-“Schedule / Diameter” section mean? What specific wall thicknesses does it correspond to? (Which standard does this come from?) Additionally, why can lugs only be designed on the straight sides of the cylinder body, and not on the upper end cap?
DIN is a German standard; the connection dimensions for piping on pressure vessel equipment exported to Europe are generally determined according to this German standard for pipes and flanges. According to this software, lifting lugs should not be added to the cover; however, you can use conventional domestic calculation methods. PVelite is primarily used for designing ASME products, and ASME does not impose any mandatory requirements regarding the calculation of lifting lugs – any relevant standard can be used for such calculations, so it’s not necessary to use PVelite exclusively.
