I have a question related to chemical engineering: in a ProII distillation column, must the temperature of the feed material be between the temperatures at the top and bottom of the column? Is there any relation to the temperature gradient?

Both the temperature and pressure of the feed material need to be taken into account. The temperature gradient and concentration gradient in the distillation tower are important conditions for obtaining qualified products. The location, temperature, and pressure of the feed must conform to this gradient distribution in order not to disrupt it. Batch feeding is the most commonly used method, mainly because it is the most economical way of feeding. As soon as the raw material enters the tower, it reaches the conditions for flashing; gas and liquid are separated, with the lighter components rising and the heavier ones sinking, and the product becomes purer as one moves toward either end of the tower. In this sense, most feed is fed to the middle of the tower. The pressure of the feed must also match the pressure of that tray; it cannot be lower than the tray pressure. The bubble point feed is selected at a fixed pressure or a fixed temperature; the corresponding temperature and pressure can be determined through calculation.
