In most cases, it is a problem with the flow meter, but there are exceptions; for example, in the vent gas from ammonia synthesis, if the ammonia content is high, decompression can affect the flow meter’s ability to measure flow.
It is mainly due to the switching between towers, as well as voltage equalization during operation and valve failures
Generally, it is due to liquid accumulation in the transmitter; unstable operating conditions or too small an opening angle of the valve, which leads to throttling, cannot be ruled out either
The replies from the original poster all have their advantages and disadvantages; here are my own thoughts: 1. Slight fluctuations in the gas flow rate entering the PSA unit are normal. When an adsorption tower that is in the adsorption state transitions to the regeneration phase, while another adsorption tower that has completed regeneration enters its final expansion stage, the gas flow rate entering that adsorption tower decreases slightly due to the reduced back pressure. As a result, the gas flow rate entering the PSA unit increases during this time. 2. If the feedstock for conversion fluctuates, it can also affect the pressure in the gas generation system, which in turn leads to fluctuations in the PSA feed flow; however, this impact is minor. 3. When the PSA programmable valve fails and causes the tower to be shut down, the gas flow rate into the PSA is also prone to fluctuations; these fluctuations are significant, but they are due to accidental factors.
It’s normal for 1# xwlly to experience changes; PSA is inherently a dynamic process, with towers being switched over at any time. When an adsorption tower is just switched over, it certainly has an impact on the overall processing capacity
