Partial: This is a condenser in the balancing stage. It can have a pure liquid product or a pure gas product, or it may not. Pure liquid products (if any) are defined as being drawn from a tower tray at a “Fixed rate liquid draw”. The condenser temperature is the dew point of the equilibrium gas. An optional estimated condenser temperature can be provided in the distillation tower/condenser window. The condenser pressure and load can also be provided. Bubble Temperature: The gas at the second tray is cooled to the liquid phase bubble point; part of the product flows back to the second tray, while the remainder is extracted as the top stream. In the Column Condenser window, an optional estimated value for the condenser temperature is provided. The condenser pressure and load can also be provided. Subcooled, Fixed Temperature: The gas at the second tray is cooled below its bubble point; this temperature is the subcooled temperature defined by this window. PRO/II determines that the product is supercooled, which indicates a non-convergent condition along with corresponding diagnostic information. The subcooled liquid product is designated as the product flowing out from the top of the distillation column. The condenser pressure and load can also be provided. Subcooled, Fixed Temperature Drop: Aside from the varying degree of deep cooling to below the product’s bubble point, this type of condenser is the same as the one described above, with subcooled product flowing out from the top. If necessary, the load and pressure of the pre-condenser can be defined in this window. If the specified load is a special parameter, the load provided for any condenser is used as an estimate. Dear sea friends, I have a question: after the gas at the top of the tower enters the reflux tank through the condenser, part of it is used as the product while the other part returns to the second tray at the top of the tower as reflux. How can the amount of reflux be measured? Thank you!
It is determined by the reflux ratio of your tower; the reflux ratio equals the amount of material that is recycled to the tower divided by the amount of product that flows out. The amount of material recycled can be calculated using the reflux ratio and the output from the top of the tower
The reflux ratio = amount of liquid returning / total amount, right? The amount of liquid on the first plate minus the amount of liquid discharged gives the amount of liquid returning
