Does anyone know the difference between control cables and computer cables when used for digital signals? For the DI signals in our two projects (mainly valve position switches), one project uses computer cables while the other uses control cables. . I asked the veteran employees, and it seems that it is determined by the type of valve position switch used. So which cable should be used with which type of valve position switch? . . It seems to be a mechanical type that doesn’t require high signal quality, so a control cable is used. . Electromagnetic types have high requirements for signals and use computer cables. They’re not the same thing. Control cables are primarily used to transmit digital or binary signals, and they can be either shielded or unshielded ； Computer cables are primarily used to transmit digital signals, such as those from networks or field buses. They are all shielded.
