I would like to ask what method is generally used for ammonia removal in off-gas treatment? We are currently using softened water, but there is no effective water treatment system for the softened water after ammonia washing; I wonder if there are any other alternatives?

A non-powered recovery device utilizes the difference in boiling points among the various components in the off-gases; it relies on the working pressure of the gas itself to facilitate expansion and cooling, thereby reducing the system temperature. As a result, ammonia, which has a higher boiling point, condenses first into a liquid state and is separated from the mixed gas, yielding liquid ammonia as the product. The gas, after being depressurized, is incorporated into the fuel gas network as fuel gas. To increase the power source for expansion refrigeration, the non-permeate gas after hydrogen recovery can be used as a power source for a power-free ammonia recovery device, and the resulting gas can be used as fuel gas after depressurization.
Selling dilute ammonia after washing with soft water is the most economical and simplest method, but its application is limited. Therefore, it is common to wash with soft water first, then concentrate the solution before feeding it into an ammonia vaporization tower. This approach is cost-effective and operates stably, but it requires steam. There are now many systems for unpowered ammonia recovery; they have low operating costs and good ammonia recovery efficiency. However, it is said that the choice of expansion engine is quite critical, and these systems require a lot of maintenance with a shorter operational lifespan. . . . .
Our factory uses idle copper towers as absorption towers, with soft water being used for absorption; the ammonia obtained after absorption is then sent for urea hydrolysis
The previous set with passive ammonia recovery is the best, but it requires investment; Ammonia water is produced by absorbing with soft water; there are ammonium carbonate production units that can supply material to the carbonation process for ammonium carbonate production, and there are urea production units that can supply material for urea desorption ; A set of ammonia vaporization equipment can also be installed.
