Is it possible to create 3D models using only AutoCAD?

Dear teachers, I learned 3D modeling through AutoCAD, and I’m able to draw factory buildings and process equipment at actual scale, though it takes a bit longer. What’s the difference between this and specialized software for 3D drawing?
3D drawings created in AutoCAD consume a large amount of memory if details such as the pipe openings, manholes, bolts, and other elements of the equipment are included, which slows down the performance of the CAD file. I used CAD 2004 to create 3D drawings of factories and equipment; the file size quickly reached 40M, after which it stopped working and could no longer be opened. Professional 3D software is different: in such software, factories and various equipment exist in the form of blocks, occupying very little memory space. Moreover, what such software generates is not just graphics; what’s more important is the database created in the background, as that is the truly crucial element.
Professional drawing software features a high degree of integration; block memory contains relevant information, and it is possible to modify and establish standards； Efficiency and management are far superior to those of basic AutoCAD.
Using CAD to create 3D drawings in a factory is the most inconvenient. Simple things are okay, but something a bit more complex doesn’t work. It’s better to choose UG, ProE, or SolidWorks. ProE is commonly used for designing molds. If it’s just about drawing factory equipment and the like, SolidWorks is the best choice. It’s easy to get started thanks to the standard part library.

If you want to create 3D models, use SolidWorks
