The differences and connections between pipe and tube

Based on my own superficial understanding, I’d like to discuss the differences and connections between these two pipes, in the hope of providing a starting point that will encourage those with more experience to share their own views. Difference 1) Definition per GB/T 20801.1-2006: 3.4 Pipe: A sealed, hollow, continuous structure used to convey fluids or transmit fluid pressure is called a pipe. Pipes used for pipelines are classified into two categories according to international conventions: a) Pipes, which are circular-section tubes manufactured in accordance with relevant standard specifications. Their dimensions are indicated by the \"nominal diameter\"; pipes with the same nominal diameter can have different wall thicknesses, but they all have the same outer diameter. Internationally, they are referred to as \"Pipe\". b) Tubes that are not manufactured according to the above standards can be tubes with a circular cross-section or any other type of cross-section (such as rectangular, polygonal, etc.). The specifications of a circular tube are determined by two of the three parameters: outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness; it is referred to as a “Tube” internationally. 2) A pipe is a type of pipeline manufactured according to pressure standards. Ture tubes are generally manufactured in accordance with size specifications to ensure the correct outer diameter, while the wall thickness is also determined based on actual requirements. 3) In the field, ‘pipe’ is commonly used for process pipes, while ‘tube’ is often used for instrument pipes. These are just my superficial insights; I hope they can serve as a starting point for further discussion. Please share your views on other aspects of the differences.
